In a recess in the rocky side of the canyon of Zarmpanitsa, in Parnon's east side, is a castle with an unknown date of building. It is possibly Byzantine, and has the design of a fortified hiding place, used by the local population during attacks and raids.
Today, the walls of the castle remain in good condition. Entrance is free but access is difficult, since to reach it one must hike through the river bed of Vrasiatis river, which dries up in the summer.
