Agia Varvara is a beautiful mountainous hamlet absorbed by pine and fir forests with 44 inhabitants built on a slope of Mount Chelmos at an altitude of 1082m. It belongs to the municipality of Aigialeia of the prefecture of Achaea and is 32km south from Akrata and 32km west from Kalavryta. Though its inhabitants were once renowned and sought-after builders, the founding date of the village is unknown.

In this traditional village with the paved little streets and the beautiful square, you can find a guest house and a café-tavern with many traditional dishes. Even if it is a small village, the Cultural Association of Agia Varvara organizes many events for the inhabitants and the visitors every summer. Close to Agia Varvara you will find a lot of interesting tourist sites such as the Tsivlos lake, 7km, the ski center in Kalavryta, 20km, and the Krathis river, 8km.
