TL;DR

A village of 241 residents, near the Acropolis of Kazarma and other Mycenaean archaeological sites and findings.

The village is built on a height of 300 metres, on the foot of Arachnaio mountain, 15.6 kilometres east of Nafplio. It has 241 residents, mainly engaged in agriculture, its products being olive oil, olives, citrus fruits, apricots and vegetables.

On a hill nearby sits the Acropolis of Kazarmas, the ruins of a small Mycenaean fortress with walls of "cyclopean" design; it is thought to have been used as a defencive watchtower of the borders of the city-state Argos. Nearby is another Mycenaean archaeological site, the bridge of Kazarma, the oldest surviving bridge of Europe. It formed part of the road network of Mycenae, dated to the 14th century BC. In the area, on that particular ancient road network, survive at least two more such bridges, though one has succumbed to the trials of time.
