Only 18km from Tripoli and at an altitude of 650m you will find the Artemisio village with approximately 320 residents. It is built on the foothills of Mount Artemisio above the ruins of the ancient city Maira and its residents engage in viticulture, agriculture and animal husbandry. The village was once called Kakouri or Legousi. During the Apokries (the period of carnival), the residents dress themselves with traditional costumes and organize a big carnival.
Artemisio village has a library, the Alalkomeneia spring and a single-arched bridge.
