TL;DR

A lowland village, popular destination for religious tourism because of its churches and the monastery of Panagias Kremastis.

Lanthi is a lowland village at an altitude of 73m and 420 residents. It is built 17km northeast of Pyrgos and until 1940 it used to be called Lansi. West of the village you will find the nunnery of Koimiseos tis Theotokou of Kremasti (Dormition of the Mother of God) which was founded in 1601. Lanthi has an agricultural cooperative, a football team and a cultural center for organizing different events. Its main product is raisin. In the center of the village the church of Agios Nikolaos (St. Nikolaos) stands out, as well as the chapels of Agios Georgios (St. Georgios), Agios Dimitrios (St. Dimitrios) and Agios Ioannis (St. Ioannis). The religious tourism is especially developed due to the monastery of Panagia Kremastis (Holy Mary of Kremastis).
