The village is built on the plateau of Kapelis, in Botini point, 27 kilometres from ancient Olympia and 50 kilometres from Pyrgos. It is on the western side of Foloi oak forest, under Fourka peak. Foloi forest, an ecosystem unique in the Balkan peninsula, has been given the status of a protected area enlisted in the Natura 2000 ecological network of the E.U. It is comprised of seedling oaks, and is the only flat forest of Greece, known since ancient times.
The village was built in 1970 and has 540 residents.
